Eric Thames Heading To Phoenix For Second Opinion On Injury
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames (thumb) will be heading off to Phoenix, Arizona, for a second opinion on his injury. Lots of discussions are going around as to whether or not he will need surgery, but for right now, it's looking to be a little unclear. After receiving the second opinion, there will most likely be a more accurate timeline recovery for Thames. According to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, surgery is "likely." Most UCL tears in thumbs have historically sidelined players up to six to eight weeks, so owners should expect him to be on the disabled list for at least a month, if not more.
