Eric Weddle To Have Surgery For Torn Pec Muscle
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams safety Eric Weddle said that he will need surgery soon after tearing his pectoral muscle in the Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Weddle suffered the injury in the first half while making a tackle on Bengals running back Joe Mixon. He left the field and put a harness on before returning to action. In the Super Bowl win, the 37-year-old was credited with four tackles (one assist). Weddle came out of retirement for the Rams playoff run after not playing at all in 2020. His veteran experience paid off for a Rams secondary that had been plagued by injuries late in the season. Weddle, who will now re-retire after winning a ring, had six solo tackles and a tackle for loss in the three playoff games leading up to the Super Bowl.
