Erick Fedde Fans Nine Saturday
4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde had one of the best starts of his career Saturday, pitching five innings of one-run ball against the Arizona Diamondbacks with nine strikeouts. He allowed one run, a homer, on five hits with just one walk on 95 pitches. Arizona swung and missed 10 times. Fedde is capable of this kind of start, for example six innings of a one-hit shutout against the Marlins last September. However, they are too few and far between; he entered the start with a 5.21 ERA, 5.47 FIP, and 1.527 WHIP in 200 1/3 career innings. Maybe stick Fedde on your watch lists in deep and NL-only leagues but don't take any further action yet.
