4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde did not make it out of the second inning in his first start of 2021 on Wednesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits in 1 2/3 innings. He walked three and struck out one. The only positive was that he did not allow a home run. Fedde only started because the team is short a couple starting pitchers after last week's coronavirus outbreak, and today's performance obviously changes nothing. He was a solid prospect at one point but those days are long gone as Fedde entered today with an anemic 5.54 FIP in 194 career innings. Even at NL-only depths, he belongs on the waiver wire, regardless of whether he ends up getting another start.--Nathaniel Green
