3 years agoErik Jones has some positive results on road courses this year despite starting poorly. The Richard Petty Motorsports driver has a place differential of +23 at Daytona, +13 at Austin, and +7 at Sonoma. That indicates two things. He can improve track position even on not the most ideal road courses. Second, he likely does not qualify all that well at Road America. Some cars just need more laps run and the No. 43 is no exception. Pocono was just a rough weekend but lately Jones has just fared much better on courses with left and right turns. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
