3 years agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Erik Kallgren became the fourth goalie in franchise history to record a shutout in his first career NHL start in Tuesday's 4-0 victory against the Stars. The 25-year-old Swedish netminder stopped all 35 shots he faced to lead the team to a much-needed win, as the tandem of Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek had posted an NHL-worst .881 save percentage since the beginning of the new year. With Campbell (ribs) sidelined for multiple weeks and Mrazek struggling immensely in net, Kallgren will get an extended opportunity to build on his terrific NHL debut. The rookie will have a tough matchup if he gets the start against the Hurricanes on Thursday, but he is worth adding in deeper fantasy formats if he can manage to hold his own against one of the best teams in the NHL.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
