6 years agoSan Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson recorded an even-strength assist and a power-play assist during a 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night. Karlsson has been good, not great, during his first season in California. The two-time Norris Trophy winner has no goals on 58 shots this season to go along with 10 assists and a minus-nine rating. It is rare to see Karlsson struggle, and one can assume he will eventually return to form, but he has fallen from his lofty status as the best offensive defenseman in the league. Managers would be smart to kick tires and try to buy low on the 28-year-old.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
