Esteury Ruiz Swipes Two More Bags In Triple-A
3 years agoSan Diego Padres second base prospect Esteury Ruiz went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a pair of stolen bases on Thursday for Triple-A El Paso. The 23-year-old opened the season for Double-A San Antonio and tore the cover off the ball with a .344 batting average to go along with nine home runs, 37 RBI and 37 stolen bases in 49 games. His hot start earned him a promotion to Triple-A and he hasn't missed beat. In nine games thus far, Ruiz has hit an incredible .514 with homers, eight RBI and nine stolen bases in just 35 at-bats. Ruiz wasn't expected to be an option at the big-league level entering 2022, but managers in redraft leagues should seriously consider stashing the speedster and dynasty managers should already be rostering Ruiz. With the potential to be a part of a dangerous offense and the speed he offers on the basepaths, he can certainly help managers down the stretch.
