Eugenio Suarez Hits 18th HR
3 years agoCincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. Suarez launched a solo shot in the ninth inning off of reliever Josh Hader to give the Reds an insurance run in the win. The veteran third baseman is now slashing .177/.256/.375 with 18 homers, 42 runs, and 50 RBI across 317 at-bats. Suarez's weak slash line stems from his lack of patience at the plate. After ranking in at least the 72nd percentile in walk percentage in each of the past four seasons, Suarez is in the 43rd percentile this season. That, coupled with just a 22nd percentile exit velocity in 2021, is hurting his production at the plate. He will face off against right-hander Brandon Woodruff on Sunday before hoping to regroup during the All-Star break.
