5 years agoCincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez and first baseman Joey Votto are both out of the lineup Saturday versus Cardinals right-hander Miles Mikolas. Josh VanMeter is at first base batting second while Jose Peraza shifts to the hot corner batting eighth. Suarez hurt his thumb on a tag play Friday night, and he'll likely be out of the lineup through the weekend. Votto is now sitting for the third-straight game with lower back tightness, an ailment that has bugged him on and off all season. Consider both players day-to-day with the hope of them returning when the Padres come to town for a three-game series beginning Monday.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
