Eugenio Suarez Rips Two-Run Homer Sunday
4 years agoCincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 6-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. Suarez ripped a first-inning pitch from Cardinals starter Daniel Ponce de Leon for his fourth homer of the season. The veteran third baseman has been struggling for much of the season, hitting just .149 with 11 runs and nine RBI over 87 at-bats. It is reasonable to wonder whether his offseason shoulder injury which required surgery may be a reason for his struggles at the plate. Suarez still deserves a spot on fantasy rosters but should be on benches until he starts to show signs of life.
