Evan Engram To Create Mismatches For Jaguars Offense
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Press Taylor envisions tight end Evan Engram creating mismatches to stress opposing defenses in 2022. The former first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2017 signed a one-year, $9 million deal with the Jaguars this offseason. "When we put Evan Engram on the field, who's going to cover him?" Taylor said. "Do you need to bring in a lighter body? Do you put a nickel on him? Do you put a safety on him? Do you put a linebacker on him, which we would ask for if you had to pick? Evan kinda brings that with his speed overall." Engram has always had potential, but the 27-year-old has been held back by injuries and a poor Giants offense. He should see an uptick in targets from second-year QB Trevor Lawrence and has a chance to be a more consistent TE1 for fantasy managers.
