Evan Gattis Has Cooled Off After Torrid June
6 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis has cooled off this week and currently is hitless over his last 16 at-bats. Gattis is coming off of a monster month of June where he hit eight home runs, drove in 30 runs and put up a .561 slugging percentage. Gattis has completely turned his season around and has 14 home runs over his last 132 at-bats. He currently is hitting only .207 with a .273 on-base percentage in the month of July but when he connects it counts. Gattis is slugging .640 with runners in scoring position and has 15 doubles and 18 home runs on the season. Gattis, however, would like to improve upon his home/road splits heading into the second half of the season. The Astros will host the Tigers at Minute Maid Park Friday night, a ballpark Gattis is posting a .174/.240/.356 line through 42 games this season.
