7 years agoHouston Astros catcher/designated hitter Evan Gattis is mired in a 9-for-58 (.155) slump heading into the final week of April. Gattis put together a few productive games straight out of the gate to start the season but has struggled ever since. He is now hitting only .205 for the season and has only two extra-base hits since April 2. Gattis did hit a two-run homer on Sunday against the White Sox but will get the night off against Angels right-hander Shohei Ohtani. The Astros are being patient with the veteran hitter, but he could lose playing time as the season goes along if both catchers Max Stassi and veteran Brian McCann continue to produce.--Joey C - RotoBaller
