Evan Gattis Slugging .914 On First Pitch Of At-Bats
6 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis has cooled off over the last week, going 5-for-27 (.185) over his last seven games played. There were few hitters in the game hotter than Gattis in the month of June, as he drove in 30 runs with eight home runs and a .561 slugging percentage. Gattis is doing some serious damage early in his at-bats, hitting five of his 17 home runs off of the first pitch he sees. The veteran is slugging .914 jumping on the first pitch, collecting 14 hits out of 35 balls put in play. Gattis is making a late push to make the All-Star game as a reserve and has emerged as a must-add in all formats over the past few weeks.
