Evan Longoria Plates Three In Spring Training Debut
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria got his first spring training action at designated hitter in Saturday's game against the Royals. The 35-year-old went 1-for-2 with a three-run double in the third inning of the game. Longoria is being slow-played on defense because of plantar fasciitis, which he has dealt with in the past, but neither Longoria nor manager Gabe Kapler seem concerned about Longoria being ready to start the season at the hot corner. While not necessarily an exciting fantasy player, Longoria has been consistent throughout his career. Hitting in the middle of an improved Giants lineup, Longoria could be worth a look in deep fantasy leagues.
