Ezequiel Duran Called Up By Rangers
2 years agoThe Texas Rangers recalled infield prospect Ezequiel Duran from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday and placed infielder/outfielder Brad Miller (neck) on the 10-day injured list with a neck strain in a corresponding move. Duran was immediately put into the starting lineup on Thursday against the Miami Marlins at second base while hitting ninth. In his first 16 major league games earlier this year, the 23-year-old Dominican went 16-for-62 (.258) with two homers, a triple, three doubles, eight RBI and two stolen bases while striking out 17 times. The Rangers' No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, should see occasional starts now that he's back with Texas, making him a potential addition in deeper fantasy leagues. Duran was slashing a combined .310/.354/.579 with a .933 OPS, 13 home runs, 48 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 63 games for Double-A Frisco and Round Rock.
