Ezequiel Duran, Taylor Hearn Optioned To Triple-A
2 years agoThe Texas Rangers optioned second baseman Ezequiel Duran and pitcher Taylor Hearn to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday. Duran was in a platoon role following his call-up on June 4. He struggled recently, hitting .067 (1-for-15) over his last four games. Duran couldn't find any playing time in a loaded Rangers infield that included Corey Seager and Marcus Semien and was sent back down to pick up everyday at-bats. Hearn struggled after posting a 6.25 ERA and 1.75 WHIP with 54 punchouts over 59 innings. The 27-year-old was recently demoted to the bullpen over the weekend after starting the season in the rotation. Hearn will head to Triple-A Round Rock and could be a top candidate to get recalled later in the season. The Rangers will make corresponding moves on Sunday.
