6 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon, who has been sidelined since May 2 with elbow problems, continues to await a final decision as to whether he will undergo Tommy John surgery, and an announcement is not expected until next week. However, the worst can be expected at this point. Rodon only had a 5.19 ERA in seven starts, but 46 strikeouts in 34 2/3 innings had helped him to a 3.54 FIP. Unfortunately, that appears likely to be irrelevant now as the surgery, if he has it, will likely keep him out until midway through the 2020 season.--Nathaniel Green
