7 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez (foreram) threw aggressively on flat ground Saturday, and manager Scott Servais isn't ruling Hernandez out to pitch in his 10th straight Opening Day, although James Paxton seems more likely to get the nod. Hernandez threw out to around 120 feet Saturday and said "it's getting better every day." The team is hoping he can now throw two bullpen sessions next week and have time to make two more spring starts. The more realistic scenario is that Hernandez doesn't start Opening Day but pitches sometime in the opening series from March 31 to April 1 against the Indians. The soon-to-be 32-year-old can remain an effective fantasy starter, but at this point in his career he's no longer the fantasy ace he once was, and health is now a question, too.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
