Fernando Tatis Jr. Balls Out, Again
4 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. finished 2-for-4 with a homer, double, three runs scored and three RBI Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Filling in as designated hitter, Tatis blasted a solo shot in the first frame against starter Alex Young. He then laced a two-run ground rule double in the ninth to spark an almost-comeback. The 21-year-old stud had been relatively quiet the past few games after exploding for six homers last week but he carries a phenomenal .310/.381/.701 slash with nine long balls, 40 runs-plus-RBI and five steals through 97 plate appearances. The early-season fantasy savior faces Snakes lefty starter Robbie Ray on Sunday with a career 1.179 OPS against southpaws.
