Fernando Tatis Jr. Having Surgery Wednesday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) is undergoing surgery on his fractured left wrist on Wednesday. The 23-year-old superstar shortstop is expected to need up to three months to recover from the injury that was initially sustained in the offseason when he crashed his motorcycle. The Padres are expected to use Ha-Seong Kim as the regular shortstop to begin the year in Tatis' absence, making him more attractive in fantasy leagues. However, top shortstop prospect C.J. Abrams could be another option at the 6 if the Padres feel he's ready. Tatis went from being the consensus No. 1 overall selection in fantasy drafts to No. 15 at his position at RotoBaller because of his serious injury. When healthy, he has elite power and speed at a premier position.
