Fernando Tatis Jr. Pops Wall-Scrapping Homer
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the New York Mets. Most of Tatis' dingers are no-doubters, but his two-run blast in the third inning required an assist off the glove of Mets center fielder Mason Williams before bouncing over the wall. After missing one game with oblique tightness, the 22-year-old appeared his electric self, also beating out an infield single and eventually racing home on a wild pitch. Tatis is now tied for the major league lead in homers with 17 and touts a .299/.379/.708 slash with 79 runs-plus-RBI and 12 stolen bases. Although his fierce playing style elevates the injury risk, Tatis has unequivocally reached the pinnacle of fantasy production.
