Fernando Tatis Jr. Rapidly On The Mend
4 years agoSan Diego Padres manager Jayce Tingler is optimistic shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (shoulder) can be activated off the IL when eligible on April 16. Tatis performed hitting and fielding drills on Saturday as he mends from a partially torn labrum. The 22-year-old suffered a left shoulder subluxation on Monday that looked to be a serious injury but the team is confident it won't require immediate surgery. Off to a slow start in 2021 with just a .619 OPS and one home run, fantasy managers can tentatively expect Tatis back in about a week. Despite the subpar headline stats, Tatis has maintained an elite 64 percent hard hit rate and 95.4 mph exit velocity. Expect that luck to turn if he comes back healthy.
