Fernando Tatis Jr. Reclaims Leadoff Spot Friday
4 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. is back batting leadoff Friday against Oakland and left-hander Jesus Luzardo, the first time that he has held down the spot since Aug. 14. The move comes largely amid the slump of Trent Grisham, but it acts to further enhance the value of Tatis, who has proven to be among the elite fantasy assets in the Majors. Tatis’ 39 runs scored and 98 total bases are tops in the big leagues, so while his RBI opportunities may be slightly hampered by hitting first, he will have ample chances to make up for it elsewhere on the stat sheet.
