Fernando Tatis Jr.'s Hitting Progression Going Well
2 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) has been hitting in the cages and said he is going 95-100 percent and has been a little surprised with how good he's felt afterward. Tatis has yet to play this year after fracturing his wrist in a motorcycle accident in the offseason, but he's getting closer to a return and should return to the Friars lineup at some point in August. The 23-year-old superstar still needs to progress to soft toss, tee work and live pitching before going on a minor league rehab assignment, though. If he returns fully healthy, he could be a difference-maker for fantasy managers down the stretch after he hit .282/.364/.611 with a .975 OPS, a league-high 42 home runs, 97 RBI, 99 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in only 130 games in 2021.
