Fernando Tatis Jr. Singles, Steals, Walks Twice In Rehab Game
6 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (hamstring) went 1-for-3 with two walks and a steal in his first rehab game with Double-A Amarillo on Monday. Importantly, Tatis legged out a single to show his bum hammy could finally be an afterthought. The 20-year-old top prospect has been shelved since April 28. Prior to the injury, Tatis was slashing .300/.360/.550 with six homers and six steals in his first 111 career plate appearances. The Friars have slow-played Tatis’ recovery so it’s undetermined how much rehab action he’ll need, but prepare to redeploy him into all fantasy lineups as early as this weekend.
