2 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Double-A San Antonio either Saturday or Sunday. Tatis is slated to see time at shortstop, center field, and designated hitter during the rehab stint. The star infielder is nearing a return to the Padres after missing the entire season thus far while recovering from surgery in March to repair a broken bone in his wrist. The Padres have yet to indicate how quickly he will be able to join the big leagues but it should be in the next week or two. Tatis joining an already loaded San Diego lineup will make the Padres' offense all the more formidable over the final two months of the regular season.--Matt T - RotoBaller
