Florida Lands Big Fish With Sergei Bobrovsky
5 years agoThe Florida Panthers signed free-agent goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (Blue Jackets) to a seven-year contract on Monday. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner replaced the retired Roberto Luongo in between the pipes in Sunrise. "Sergei is an elite starting goaltender who has consistently proven to be one of the best in the NHL," general manager Dale Tallon said. He posted a 37-24-1 record, 2.58 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 62 games with the Jackets last season, and lead them to a surprising first-round sweep of the one-seed Tampa Bay Lightning. He is a legit No. 1 fantasy netminder across all formats, and Florida is on the rise with plenty of offensive talent to support him.
