3 years agoHouston Astros pitching prospect Forrest Whitley (elbow) should return to game action by June after missing all of last season due to Tommy John surgery. Whitley reached Double-A in 2017, a year after graduating high school, and was once the top pitching prospect in the game. But several injuries and command issues have made him more of a forgotten name heading into 2022. Whitley has five pitches that grade as plus or better when they're on, but his command lagged behind the quality of his arsenal before his elbow injury. MLB.com's Jim Callis thinks it's doubtful that he'll surface in the Astros rotation this year, as it usually takes pitchers returning from Tommy John surgery a while to regain their command.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
