6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Franchy Cordero (leg, elbow) exited Wednesday’s rehab game in Triple-A with a leg injury. Cordero was amidst his 11th game recovering from an elbow ailment and was slated to return to the big leagues relatively soon. He was posting a .794 OPS with three homers but an alarming 35 percent strikeout rate during the assignment. Status on his injury is unknown but if deemed not serious, it’s possible he’ll rejoin the Padres to replace fellow outfielder Josh Naylor as a left-handed platoon bat. The 24-year-old Cordero has been a sabermetrics darling for his batted-ball profile but contact issues and health have been an impediment in his development.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
