4 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora has given a clue on how he will use new outfielder Franchy Cordero, sitting him on Opening Day against Baltimore Orioles left-hander John Means and starting him against right-hander Matt Harvey on Saturday. This decision speaks to the extreme splits Cordero has had over his career, as he has a career .786 OPS against righties and a .573 OPS against lefties. Using him in this role will increase his production, even if it results in slightly fewer at-bats. The 26-year-old should play regularly against right-handers this year, which will make him intriguing for his power stroke in DFS games and deep mixed leagues.--Daniel Fox
