Franchy Cordero Remains Unavailable Under COVID-19 Protocol
4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Franchy Cordero has still not been cleared to participate in Grapefruit League contests as he works through COVID-19 protocol. Acquired by the Red Sox in a three-team swap during February, Cordero figures to be a regular in the Boston outfield, provided that he is able to ramp up adequately by Opening Day. Should Cordero face a regular-season absence, Marwin Gonzalez figures to step in due to his positional flexibility. Cordero's greatest strength from a fantasy perspective is his power, as he has amassed a modest .433 SLG over 95 career big league games, most of which have come in a sporadic reserve role. Cordero should be cleared in the coming days, but fantasy managers will want to check back to get updates on his status.
