4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Franchy Cordero has struggled this camp, according to San Diego Union Tribune’s Kevin Acee. However, the 25-year-old managed to reach base twice in Sunday’s intrasquad game. A previous lock for the roster, Cordero is suddenly on the bubble as he battles outfielders Josh Naylor and Edward Olivares for platoon roles. Of the three, Olivares has been the runaway standout. A former prospect with dazzling advanced metrics, Cordero has played just 49 games over the past two years while ravaged by injuries. When he’s cracked the lineup, Cordero has endured a strikeout rate north of 35 percent. In a make-or-break season, Cordero won’t be a fantasy factor until he proves he belongs in the majors.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
