Francisco Cervelli Placed On 10-Day Injured List

5 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates transferred catcher Francisco Cervelli (concussion) to the 10-day injured list on June 4. Cervelli, who last played in a game on May 25, was placed on the seven-day list on May 26. The Pirates recently said that they are going to take their time with bringing Cervelli back given his extensive concussion history. There is still no timetable for his return, although he has been doing some conditioning work the past several days. With the 33-year-old veteran on the shelf for the time being, fantasy owners in two-catcher leagues can confidently insert Elias Diaz into their lineups. Diaz has been raking over the last 15 games at the plate with a slash line of .400/.414/.455 to go along with six runs scored and 15 RBI.--Daniel Benjamin
