3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (oblique) will require a four-to-six week recovery from his right oblique strain, which would place a likely return date at mid-to-late August, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. This is the first time we're hearing about a timeframe for return, and while that's obviously a good sign, as we've seen with other players this season, it's hard to tell exactly how long an oblique injury will take to fully heal up. Lindor has had a disappointing season this year, hitting .228 with a .702 OPS across 87 games. But in his last 14 games prior to the injury, he had begun to heat up at the plate by slashing .317/.462/.463 with two home runs, two steals, 11 RBI and nine runs scored. Until he returns, Luis Guillorme will continue to see increased playing time at shortstop.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
