3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in the Mets 6-5 loss to the Pirates on Sunday. It was, arguably, Lindor's best offensive game of the season. Heading into the All-Star break, Lindor is red hot slashing .333/.462/.619 with two home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored over his past seven games (21 at-bats). As previously reported, Lindor's hitting metrics, including an overall hard-hit rate and a walk rate which are the highest of his career, had been suggesting positive regression. Though we had seen Lindor heat up and, subsequently, fall into long droughts at the plate, it is possible his season-long offensive slumber is finally over. Sunday's performance bodes well for a solid second-half that the Mets and fantasy managers desperately need from the 27-year-old. Lindor finishes the first half of the 2021 campaign batting .227/.326/.377 with 11 HR, 36 RBI, 49 runs scored, and eight steals over 86 games.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
