Francisco Lindor Hitless Again On Monday
3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Rockies on Monday. Lindor's poor season continues as he is now batting just .185 over his last seven games (27 at-bats) and has posted a miserable .189/.295/.277 slash line in 2021 with June quickly approaching. Although he has solid strikeout, walk, and whiff rates which are all within the top 20% of MLB, these metrics are not translating to productive counting stats or ratios. Unfortunately, with the Mets suffering numerous injuries to their regulars, they sorely need Lindor to break out of his season-long funk. Likewise, fantasy managers who drafted Lindor within the first two rounds of drafts in the early spring are certainly not receiving the production they anticipated. Although managers should continue to exercise patience with Lindor, they may wish to sit him until he starts showing signs of breaking out, particularly in shallow formats.
