3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (oblique) likely won't need a rehab assignment before he returns to the team, according to Tim Britton of The Athletic. Manager Luis Rojas said the team has not officially made a decision on that just yet, but it's looking like he could return sometime during the Mets' upcoming series with the Giants. Lindor has been out since mid-July with a Grade 2 oblique strain after slashing .228/.326/.376 with 11 homers, eight steals, 36 RBI and 49 runs scored over 87 games. The injury came right as he was heating up at the plate, as he was slashing .333/.489/.500 with two homers, two steals, 10 RBI and nine runs scored over 12 games in July. Managers will hope that the time off hasn't affected his timing, and that he can provide a solid boost down the stretch and into the fantasy playoffs.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
