Francisco Liriano Gives Up Two Earned Runs In Return
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Francisco Liriano made his return from injury Saturday. The southpaw gave up two runs over four innings. He was far from terrible, as he only gave up just four hits. Liriano had some rust, however, and he walked three batters while only striking out three. The Tigers were careful with him and pulled him after 75 pitches. Liriano ultimately got the loss, but it was a good moment for the team to see him back on the field. He owns a 3.90 ERA on the season. His strikeout rate has steadily been decreasing throughout his career, and his K/9 is now down to 7.02 on the year. Expect the Tigers to ease him back into a higher number of pitches.
