5 years agoSan Diego Padres backstop Francisco Mejia is starting in left field and batting second Sunday versus Red Sox lefty Brian Johnson. It's his fourth start of the year in the outfield this season, and second in the last week as we may see him receive more starts there moving forward. The Friars called up catching prospect Austin Allen yesterday perhaps hinting that Mejia will see less time behind the dish. It would certainly help the switch-hitter get more playing time and become a more significant fantasy contributor, although he has done well in his part-time action. Mejia could find fantasy relevance in single-catcher mixed leagues if he begins to shift to the outfield.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
