Frank Schwindel Continues Power Surge
3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel continued his power surge with a 3-for-4 performance in Friday's victory versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Schwindel hit a solo home run and drove in two runs on the afternoon. He has now homered in three of his last four games. The first baseman has spent the majority of his career in the minor leagues, but he was promoted to be the Cubs everyday first baseman with the club dealing Anthony Rizzo at the trade deadline and has impressed thus far. Schwindel is now hitting .315 with nine home runs and 26 RBI. Managers seeking a hot bat with power can consider Schwindel in deeper leagues.
