3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss versus the Miami Marlins. Schwindel took Elieser Hernandez deep for the Cubs only run in the top of the sixth inning. Schwindel has been getting a fair amount of playing time at first base with Anthony Rizzo being dealt to the New York Yankees and he has made the most of his opportunity thus far. Schwindel started the season with the Oakland Athletics, but has mainly played in Triple-A for both the A's and Cubs. Between both teams at the big league level, Schwindel is hitting .303 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 66 at-bats. Schwindel has been swinging a hot bat of late and has now homered in three of his last four games. Schwindel doesn't offer much long term appeal, but he can be considered in deeper mixed leagues for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
