Frank Schwindel Hits Seventh Home Run
3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory versus the Minnesota Twins. Schwindel sent one over the wall off of John Gant in the top of the first inning to give the Cubs an early 1-0 lead. Replacing Anthony Rizzo at first base in the second half, Schwindel has filled in respectfully with a .308 batting average to go along with seven home runs and 21 RBI. As part of one of the worst offenses in the league, he won't get many RBI opportunities, but he's the swinging the bat well enough to be worthy of a spot in deeper mixed leagues.
