3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, per Cubs writer Andy Martinez. The 29-year-old came out of nowhere last season as a surprise fantasy contributor but has slashed just .209/.250/.308 with two home runs and nine RBI in his first 96 plate appearances this season. Pitcher Adrian Sampson was called up in a corresponding move. Fantasy managers can drop Schwindel at this time, and they should wait to see how Sampson performs and what his role will be before adding him to their rosters.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
