Frank Schwindel Returns To Lineup Sunday
3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel (back) returned to the team's Cactus League lineup on Sunday and is hitting third and playing first base. Schwindel has been out of the spring lineup since he was scratched with back tightness on Wednesday, but the injury wasn't very serious and he may not have missed a game if it was the regular season. Barring any setbacks with his back, the 29-year-old should be good to go for Opening Day as the Cubs regular first baseman. After being acquired from the Oakland Athletics, Schwindel excelled for the Cubs in the second half in 2021, hitting .342/.389/.613 with 13 homers and 40 RBI in 56 games. He's a name on the rise and is currently ranked as RotoBaller's No. 28 fantasy first baseman.
