Frank Schwindel Stays Red Hot With Another Homer
3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel continued his hot hitting in Saturday's victory versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Schwindel went 3-for-5 with two RBI. His first RBI came on a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning and his second RBI came with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning. Schwindel has now homered in four of his last five games and is showing that his is power it to be taken seriously. For the season, Schwindel is now hitting .326 with 10 home runs and 28 RBI to go along with an impressive .998 OPS in 135 at-bats. Managers should consider rostering Schwindel at the moment, but also temper their expectations moving forward with the first baseman likely to cool off at some point.
