4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas allowed three runs in six innings with five strikeouts while taking the loss Tuesday at Tampa Bay. Montas now has three quality starts this season and with two terrible starts mixed in between. This start lowered his ERA to an unsightly 6.20, however, his peripheral pitching metrics imply it should be a tad lower. Montas has been plagued by a .320 BABIP this season and he's still generating whiffs at a high rate (13%) so there's upside in fantasy when he has a good matchup. He'll face the Orioles on Sunday as an attractive streaming option to end the week.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
