7 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas struggled for the first time this season, taking a loss in a 7-3 game against the Astros. The 25-year-old surrendered seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits and four walks with only one strikeout in 5 1/3 innings. Montas' first three starts were against the Diamondbacks and the Royals twice. The Astros were his first challenge of the season, so it is not surprising that he did not perform as well. Montas is now 3-1 with a 2.67 ERA in 27 innings pitched. He will look to rebound Wednesday in a favorable matchup against the Padres.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
