Frankie Montas Goes Seven Scoreless In Loss
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas threw a gem Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately he didn't get a win for his effort. Montas threw seven scoreless innings, giving up only two hits and two walks while striking out nine. He left the game with the team leading 1-0 over the San Francisco Giants, but the bullpen could not hold the line. Montas now has a 3.84 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and 161 strikeouts in 143 innings for the season. He's been every better lately with a 2.51 ERA in his last seven starts. He's looking very strong and should be a weekly starter in all formats.
